Black River Falls, Wisconsin, photographs, ca. 1900-ca. 1914.

Views of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, collected by Judge Harry Perry and made by photographers Charles Van Schaick and Ben Holler, ca. 1900-1914. The majority of the images are of the October 6, 1911, flood in Black River Falls, documenting damage along the river and in the town. The Van Schaick images include views of the flood as well as images of a railroad bridge over the river, the funeral of postmaster Martin Lien, a Navy memorial boat launch, ca. 1907, and rebuilding after the flood. Many of the Holler images of the flood were included in "Disaster at Black River Falls, Wis.," a series of photographs by Holler. Other Holler images show the construction of the powerhouse at Black River Falls and businesses along the bank of the Black River.
